Dr Markus Krall is a Managing Director in the goetzpartners Frankfurt office and heads the Financial Institutions Industry Group. Markus Krall has nearly 25 years of experience in banking and insurance, both as a consultant and in positions with line and management responsibility.
Prior to joining goetzpartners he was a Senior Partner at Roland Berger, where he organised the initiative to establish a European ratings agency, and was a founding partner and director of KDB Krall Demmel Business Consulting, a boutique specialising in risk management. He also served as Chief Risk Officer and board member during the restructuring of Converium Re and played an instrumental role in the rescue of the world’s eighth-largest reinsurer.
Having launched his career in a management board support role at Allianz AG in Munich, he switched to Boston Consulting Group as a consultant before helping to build up Oliver Wyman in Germany. He joined McKinsey in 2003 as a Senior Partner and head of the Risk Practice.
Markus Krall has successfully managed a global portfolio of projects in risk management and strategy for banks and insurance companies across the whole of Europe, the USA, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. His client roster includes several of the global top 20 financial service providers, regulators, central banks and supranational institutions such as the European Commission.
